Welcome to Lago Vista

Lago Vista ISD is located in Travis County on the north shore of Lake Travis and is part of the greater Austin metropolitan area. The District encompasses 35 square miles and serves the cities of Lago Vista, Point Venture, and South Jonestown Hills. Lago Vista ISD is a lakeside community in the Texas Hill Country located just 15 miles from the Austin city limits, making it a highly desired location.

Community Lago Vista ISD is located in Travis County on the north shore of Lake Travis and is part of the greater Austin metropolitan area. The District encompasses 35 square miles and serves the cities of Lago Vista, Point Venture, and South Jonestown Hills.

HistoryThe first school in the Lago Vista area was established in 1895 as a one room, one teacher, one student school district. In 1973, a small elementary/middle school was constructed on Dawn Drive and in 1975, Lago Vista ISD became a K-12 system. Construction of the first high school building was completed in 1976. Since the 1999-2000 school year, the District has grown by about 40%.
