LVHS athletes made us proud with their all around awesomeness at the Regional Track Meet. We are excited to watch the following at the State Track Meet, May 10-11, 2019 @ The University of Texas.

The times in parenthesis is the time they will compete on Friday, May 10th.

GIRLS GOLF REGIONAL CHAMPIONS!

Congratulations to the Lady Vikings "Blue" and "Gold" Teams for a fantastic showing at the Region IV-AAA Girls Golf Tournament in Kerrville, Texas on Monday, April 22, and Tuesday, April 23, 2019. The Regional Champs, LVHS Blue came in with a 2-day total of 711, beating the 2nd place team by 55 strokes!  The Gold team came in 5th place overall out of 16 teams! Way to go Girls!

 

STATE QUALIFYING BOYS GOLF TEAM!

LVHS Boy's BLUE team participated in the Region IV AAA Golf Tournament on Thursday, April 25, 2019. After the weather caused the first day of play to to be cancelled, the team was able to complete 18 holes to determine three State-Qualifying teams and Medalists.  The boy's team finished the day with a team score of 325 (the lowest of the season), which put them in a team playoff with Rice High School. After a three-hole team play-off, the Vikings captured second place, qualifying to participate in the State of Texas High School Golf Tournament on May 20-21. Members of the State-Qualifying team are (in alphabetical order):

REGIONAL TENNIS SUCCESS!

Hannah Long and Landon Hassin did not let up and both placed 3rd in singles at Regional Tennis Tournament! Congrats!

DISTRICT CHAMPS!

The Lady Viking softball team secured the District Champ position Thursday, April 18, beating Florence 13-7.
The will play San Antonio Randolph on Thursday, April 25th at Wimberley High School @ 5pm.
Thanks for you continued support of the softball program. Come out and show our Lady's some Viking Pride!

AREA TRACK

Varsity boys track team will move on to regional track after claiming the Area Champ title! Andrew Holt broke another record, running 4:28 in the 1600m. Our girls did amazing as well, as a team coming in 3rd place but individually, each advancing to Regionals, held on April 26th & 27th at DW Rutledge Stadium.

     

ONE ACT PLAY ADVANCES TO STATE

Congrats to our amazing One Act Play cast and crew on advancing to State competition on May 4 at McNeil High School. Break a leg!

DISTRICT TENNIS CHAMPS!

Viking Tennis teams had HUGE success today at the District 25AAA tournament - gotta love that! And there is more...see tennis page for ALL the winners today!

Hannah wins District for the 4th time in girls singles!  Landon takes District for the 2nd year in a row in boys singles  Lucas & John made winning boys doubles look easy!  Esther & Sarah won Girls Doubles

DISTRICT GOLF

Our LVHS Boys and golf teams competed for the District 25AAA Golf Title April 1 & 2, playing at Lago Vista Golf Course and Lighthouse Country Club in Kingsland. We would like to thank staffs of both courses for supporting our LVHS Golf Program. After two days of competitive play, our girl's BLUE and GOLD teams finished in first and second place, respectively, and have qualified to compete at the Regional Golf Tournament in Kerrville. Our boy's BLUE and GOLD teams finished in first and third place, respectively, and our boy's BLUE team has qualified to compete at the Regional Golf Tournament in Kerrville.

Lago Vista placed 9 members of the girl's golf team in the top ten places at the tournament and 4 members of the boy's golf team in the top ten places at the tournament. Congratulations are in order for all members of our golf teams and we wish you the best of luck at the Regional Tournament later this month. Go Vikings!

     

LVHS FINE ARTS

Lago Vista Band competed at the UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest and received straight 1’s in Concert and Sightreading! That is the highest score possible and the first time our band has accomplished this in over 10 years! Congrats to our talented and hard working students and our awesome band directors, Mr. DuPlooy and Mr. Mothersole!

3RD IN STATE

Dasha Gildon, Cheyenne LeBlanc, and Jessica Pessin participated in the Girls State Powerlifting Meet. All competed very well with Cheyenne finishing in the top 10 of her weight class and Jessica placing 3rd in her weight class, bringing home some hardware.

GOLF CHAMPS!

The LVHS Girls Golf team captured the championship of the Cameron Golf Tournament (March 5, 2019).
Lyla Vaughn shot a nine-hole score of 43 to place first individually and Cailey Nuckolls placed 3rd with a 48. Bella Zaleski placed 4th individually. Rounding out the team were Elizabeth Talley and Makenna Walker. Competing as individual medalists were Schuyler Burke and Emily Moxley.

Congratulations to Sydnie & Ethan for bringing home our first UIL "Oscar" with their winning production in Traditional Animation of Purple Again, at the 2019 UIL Young Filmmakers Festival.

LADY VIKING GOLF CHAMPS!

 

Congratulations to the Lago Vista Lady Vikings Golf Team on winning the championship of the Blanco High School Girls Golf Tournament on Tuesday, February 26, 2019. The Lady Vikings posted a team-score of 381. Individually, Lyla Vaughn won First Medalist honors with an outstanding 18-hole round score of 77.

CONGRATS LADY VIKINGS

This team produced the most wins in a season for Lago Vista High School girls basketball. They also went back to back to the regional tournament for the first time ever.

All-State Musicians

Congrats to Matthew Beavers and Jonah Kelley for earning a place in the Texas All-State Band! They will perform in San Antonio, Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center as part of the 2019 Texas Music Educators Association Clinic/Convention. They were chosen for this prestigious honor through a competitive process held this year across the state at District, Region, and Area levels.

Those sweet words can be said our 2019 Cheer Team that wowed the judges at the 2019 UIL State Spirit Championships. LVHS went up against 70+ other 3A squads after months of practice and training. They also earned first place in Fight Song.  We are so proud of the team & Mrs. Baugh!

All-State Academic Volleyball
Congratulations to seniors Hannah Long and Grace Standiford for being named to the Texas High School Girls Coaches Association Class 3A All-State Academic Volleyball Team. Both of these young ladies excel on the court as well as in the classroom...so proud of them!

The Viking Band attended the ATSSB (Association of Texas Small School Bands) auditions this weekend. Of the 13 LVHS students who participated, we had 11 advance to Area - the most of all 3A schools in our Region. State Cross Country

Saturday, November 3, 2018
The State Meet signals the official end of each cross country season. Lago Vista has now made it tradition to be there. This year Lago Vista was represented by the girls TEAM and Andrew Holt for the boys. The ladies finished as the 15th best TEAM in the state of Texas, such a big honor! Andrew Holt finished his last race of his senior year with the best race of his life to date (more to come in track!). He finished as the 10th fastest young man in Texas! 3A has some amazing competitors, but Andrew took most of them down Saturday at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. They invite the 152 best men and women to the state meet and of those Andrew was 10th. He was awarded a Top 10 finisher medal and an All State Plaque. As amazing as all these state performances were, the entire team did amazing things this year.

BOYS:
District - Varsity District Champions, Andrew Holt Individual District Champ, Nate Deveze Top 10
Region - 7th place team and only a few points shy of a state appearance
State - Andrew Holt 10th place individually with a 16:29 (that's 5:18 per mile for 3.1 miles!)

GIRLS:
District - JV District Champions w/ a PERFECT SCORE (1,2,3,4,5=15), but also finished in 6,7,8,10,13,16 out of 29 total to take all but 1 top 10 finishing spot
     Varsity 2nd place and Region Qualifiers, Esther Long/Phoebe Gale/Courtney Keeney all finished Top 10
Region - 3rd place team and State Qualifiers
State - 15th place team, Esther Long top finisher in 40th with a 12:50

Bi-District Champs!

Please congratulate the team members of our volleyball teams on their outstanding seasons.

While our varsity season ended last night (11/1/18) on a rough note, the girls still had one of the best seasons in the history of Lago Vista. One loss will not define all of the accomplishments the girls achieved this season and what a truly great team they were.

Competing against tough non-district and district competition, our varsity squad finished with a season record of 30 wins & 6 losses and a district record of 10 wins & 2 losses (District Runner-up). Along the way, the girls had numerous wins over state-ranked opponents in all classifications and placed 4th out of 24 teams at the Wimberley Tournament.

I am so proud of all of my girls....they are terrific athletes, outstanding students, and even better young ladies.

The Junior Varsity team finished with a season record of 20 wins and 10 losses and captured the District Championship with a record of 11 wins and 1 loss.

Our amazing young men and women competed at the Region XC Meet on Monday, October 22nd in Corpus Christi - top 4 go to State.

Andrew Holt was the Individual District Champ for Varsity Boys.
Andrea Porras was the Individual District Champ for JV Girls.
The JV Girls finished 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,10 at the District Meet! Total domination.
