The Lady Vikings had a thrilling comeback against Schulenburg and logged another win in the final minute to move on to the 3rd Round of Playoffs. They move to the Quarterfinals which will see them taking on Poth on Tuesday night.

Art students competed in the VASE art competition on Saturday. We had 18 medalists and several perfect scores. Please congratulate Kendall Barclay, Dylan Caperton, Marie Chan, Laura Chau, Michael Chiappone, Shannon Dyke, Angela Jenson, Presleigh Lopez, Ashlyn Pasak, Karina Pena, Haily Pham, Sequoia Urdy, Lily Warren and Hazel Warren. Lastly, Ila Dannelly will be returning to the State VASE Competition!

Lions Youth Contestants Win at Mid-Winter Conference
Representing both Point Venture and Lago Vista Lions, candidate Jacquelyn Emery, Lago Vista High School senior won first place in both Outstanding Youth and the Diabetes Awareness Essay Contest. Jacquelyn will be competing in both categories at the competition for District 2S-3 during the State Lions Convention in Corpus Christi May 25-26th.
Another Point Venture candidate, Deborah Suniura, claimed the first place in the Drug Awareness Speech contest. She will represent Lions District 2 S-3 at the State Convention in this competition. Hazel Warren, LV Lions candidate won second place in the Diabetes Awareness Essay contest. She went home with a $250 check. First place winners will be presented their $500 checks at the State competition where they have the possibility of winning $2000, $1250 or $750 scholarships. All contestants are members of the Lago Vista Leos Club at LVHS.

Congratulations to our Lady Viking Cheer team. They placed 10th out of 74 teams in the UIL State Spirit Competition in Fort Worth on Thursday, Jan 11th. Proud day to be a Viking!
